~Film-to-Wedding Inspiration: Breakfast at Tiffany's~

Per the request of our wonderful reader, Cheyenne, today's "Film-to-Wedding Inspiration" comes to us from Audrey Hepburn's infamous, "Breakfast at Tiffany's!!!" (Thank you Cheyenne!)
This film is full of distinct color contrasts--I always think of the black & white of her classic outfit with the robin's egg blue of the little Tiffany boxes! If I were to imagine a wedding inspired by "Breakfast at Tiffany's," I  would see pearls, bling, and lots of these classic, yet modern touches.  So, with these accents in mind, here's today's "Film-to-Wedding Inspiration" board! (c:
| Sweets & Favors |
1. These adorable little cake pops have a "Tiffany" inspired glam to them! These would be such a fun accent for adults & kids, alike, on a dessert table! Via Cake Pop My Heart
2. These beautiful fans are not only perfect to stay fashionably cool at an outdoor wedding, but they can also be personalized! Via Abbie & Izzie Designs
3. Sunglasses & "Tiffany"-colored cocktails bring that retro glam of Audrey's style to your own special day! Via Wedding Gawker

| Glamourous Cakes |
These cakes embody the design theme of "Breakfast at Tiffany's, classic and absolutely fabulous! A mix of pearls, black tie accents, and "Tiffany" blue fondant are just those little details that make a huge impact and bring in the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" flair.

| Classic & Quirky Photography |
I was just discussing (in yesterday's post…here) how photography can make the most impact on exhibiting the exact theme you're going for on your big day! Go big, because it's your time to shine and HAVE FUN WITH IT! Bring some oversized balloons to hold or find some old, vintage chandeliers to hang from trees for a great photo backdrop!

| Fabulous Fashion |
A "Breakfast at Tiffany's" inspired-wedding allows you to be bold, but classic with your bridal and bridesmaid fashion selections.  Who says you have to wear white to your wedding? This elegant and modern black dress, with pearl detailing, looks like a 2012 version of Audrey's famous dress! Why not put your bridesmaids in the understated and subtle Tiffany blue to make your dress even bolder? It would be that exact contrast between light and dark colors like in the movie!

And how cute is this mini Audrey?!!?!?! It would be absolutely, ADORABLE to have your flower girls look like mini-Audrey Hepburn's and it would add that sweet, touch of whimsy to your special day!

~Film-to-Wedding Inspiration: 500 Days of Summer~

….And now for the second round of "Film-to-Wedding Inspiration" for the day.  It comes to us from the film,"500 Days of Summer."

If you have not seen this movie…GO.RENT.IT.NOW
(Actually, just go buy it.  You'll love it, I promise.)

Not only is it a great film but it's also a great experimentation in visuals and a mix of film mediums! Some of my favorite things about this film are the whimsical touches of French music, split screens, retro cinema moments, and just a dash of a grand musical scene.

When I think of the style, of this film, I begin to picture 1960s mod+modern architecture, and those are some great things to incorporate into a "500 Days of Summer" inspired wedding!

A rooftop terrace (Via Society Bridecan be a beautiful setting for any big day! It adds a real, modern-city feel to your wedding and you can get a beautiful sunset/night sky view for free!

This beautiful store on Etsy, called Sash Couture, actually makes a "500 Days of Summer"-inspired dress
One of the beautiful things in the movie is the various typography! I love a good font!  For "500 Days" inspired features, have some personalized graphic design pieces made to add depth and modernity to your wedding.  Commission some pieces like this beautiful photo booth backdrop by Dana Tanamachi or a custom "couple logo" for your reception, like the one above by Matthew Tapia. You can even bring in a cityscape sketch, like in the film, through invitations like these by Cricket Printing
Graphic cakes and modern "Foodie" trucks only further create that instant, vintage feel!  Retro pieces like the "Foodie" truck and the bug make for great photography moments.
And last, but certainly not least, photography! This is, in my opinion, one of the best parts of a wedding! Think about showing your wedding photographer screenshots of films or music videos you L-O-V-E and ask how they incorporate this styling into your photos! As a photographer, I like to remember to also take individual shots of the bride and groom, it allows for their individuality to shine--reminding them this wonderful day is about two amazing, individuals joining their lives together!

Anyone have a suggestion for tomorrow's "Film-to-Wedding" inspiration? If so, comment below!

I don't know about y'all, but I cannot wait for "The Great Gatsby" film, (Also one of my FAVORITE novels) with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, to debut this December!  It is directed by Baz Luhrmann, the visual genius behind "Moulin Rouge" and "Romeo+Juliet"--even the movie posters are beautiful!

~Featured Friday~: Ooh La La Posh Designs

I wanted to squeeze in a quick "Featured Friday" because I have had this Etsy store saved for a long time on my computer! "Ooh La La Posh Designs" creates beautiful wedding invitations and you just pay for the PDF file! Then you can take it to any copy/print store, or online sites like Vistaprint, and print them yourselves!  I have seen wedding invitations selling for hundreds and hundreds of dollars on various sites around the web.  This is a great way to not only save money, but to get a custom look without sacrificing style and quality. Just look at some of these great graphics…

I just cannot get over these prices! SO AFFORDABLE! Let's say you chose one of the $15.00 options and wanted to get them printed at Vistaprint.  Just upload your PDF file here and you have your own custom-designed wedding invites! Vistaprint even has a sale going on right now where you can upload your own design and get 10 for $7.49--so even if you have 150 guests, your total for these custom designed-then-self printed invitations will be $127.35!

WE'RE BACK---Fall Fashion+DIY+New Items!

HElloooo Lovelies,
Sorry for the hiatus everybody! Between having a bit of a cold and swimming in a sea of rosettes/custom orders (just look below if you don't believe me!), I was not able to post regularly like I LOVE TO DO!
"The Sea of Rosettes"
But that is changing today with an extra long post full of fall fashion+wedding inspiration, DIY items to try yourselves, and a sneak peek at some new items we are in the midst of working on here at Ticket Booth No. 92.

First on the agenda, Wedding Inspiration! Here at Ticket Booth No. 92, we look to fashion trends to gain further inspiration for wedding themes, interior design, and color/texture fads in the design world.  I wanted to take a look at some Fall fashion trends and show you guys how to incorporate these into your very own wedding! (c:

1. Hats!--I love hats and it makes me SO happy to see they are a Fall fashion trend! You can be bold and integrate one into your day-of-wedding ceremony, or have fun in your bridal pics by bringing along a hat to add a casual flair to your dress!
1. Via Interest

2. Fur-Inspired Accents!--With all of the faux fur inspired accents around these days, it can easily add a touch of glamour to any big day or vintage glam to a winter themed wedding! These inspiration photos remind me of something straight out of "The Great Gatsby!"

3. Colored Glitter!--Fall fashion trends don't have to just be incorporated through bridal fashion, you can also bring it in through your wedding decor or even you & your bridesmaids' nails!
1. Via A Fresh Coat of Paint (Etsy Shop)
2. Via Ruffled
3. Via Glamour
4. Plaid!--Anything plaid always reminds me of autumn, so it's no surprise that it is a Fall 2012 fashion trend! You can bring this classic accent into your decor through invitations, cakes, and table settings.

You can even take the Fall trend of GLITTER and use it in tons of money-saving ways! (Here's the "Thrifty Thursday" tip…just a day late (c; lol)

1. A fall wedding is a perfect time to bring in pumpkins, but who says they have to be plain? All you need to do is apply a layer of any decoupage or white glue, then glitter away! You can then spray it with clear spray paint, or decoupage one more layer atop it, to hold in all that glitter! This would be such an easy DIY project for any Autumn table setting!

2. These glittered clothes pins can be such a cute accent to hold place cards on a vintage frame or even at their table setting! Adds a little sparkle in such an easy way--just buy a pack of clothes pins, once again use decoupage or white glue, then glitter away.  It really is THAT easy!

3. How beautiful would these glitter vases be on a table setting with candles glowing in them? So gorgeous! Per Organizeyourstuffnow.com, "just tape off the region you want to accent on your vase or glass bottle, mod podge, glitter, and then take off the tape!"

 Such an easy way to save money, if you're open to doing some of these DIY projects.  You might be more sparkly than before you started…but who said that is a bad thing? (c;

Heather

P.S. Here's that sneak peek of some new items we are working on around here at Ticket Booth No. 92…what do you think?
